Two people appeared to be okay after the small Piper Seneca plane they were on landed in the Everglades late Friday morning.
The incident took place west of Sheridan Street and U.S 27. Coast Guard crews responded and found two men standing on top of the plane, which looked like it sustained some damage.
A nearby fire caused some to think the plane was producing the flames, but crews determined that was not the case upon arrival.
The two men were hoisted onto a helicopter, where they were taken to the Coast Guard’s Opa-locka air station and examined by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials.
