A small plane made an emergency landing on a Key Biscayne golf course Monday afternoon.
Two people were on board the Cessna 150 when it landed at the Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne at 6700 Crandon Boulevard around 2:25 p.m., Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said.
Footage showed the plane on a grassy area with damage to its wings. It also had damaged landing gear and was dripping fuel.
The two people were okay, officials said.
The plane had departed from Miami-Opa-locka Executive Airport and was headed to Miami Executive Airport, FAA officials said.
"Lucky. We were really lucky. I got some good training over my years of flying and lucky that I had my dad there, who's also very experienced," said Roberto Gomez, Jr., co-pilot.
The father-son duo's combined 40 years of flying experience may be what saved the day when their Cessna quit working mid-flight.

"It had like a rough high vibration and we lost power," Roberto Gomez said.
Engine failure forced them to make the emergency landing on the golf course.
"On the highway, so many people on the highway, so you have to think fast. It was a clear shot and a nice landing area. No people on the golf course, so we took the shot," Gomez said.
Most of the evening was then spent trying to remove the plane from the course. They first had to unload the fuel, and then dismantle it to tow it away.
"Life goes on. We keep going. We keep flying, keep doing our thing," Gomez said.
