Nearly a dozen people will be looking for a new place to sleep tonight after an early morning fire broke out inside a Hialeah motel Thursday.
Fire crews arrived at the Hialeah Executive Motel located off West 1st Avenue and Okeechobee Road around 7:15 a.m. after reports that a fire had started in one of the rooms before spreading to several more.
Firefighters were able to put out the blaze and no one was injured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, while one person who said they were in the room when the fire started told NBC 6 that an outlet near an air conditioning unit caught fire and spread throughout the room – though officials have not confirmed that.
