Miami and Fort Lauderdale have made it to the top list of cities with the highest amount of pedestrian deaths, according to a new report released by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The report, which puts Florida as one of the states where pedestrian safety focus is needed, hopes to raise awareness and prevent future pedestrian deaths.

The efforts include helping state and local officials learn how to address pedestrian safety issues by offering free technical assistance and courses.
In Florida other cities that need pedestrian safety focus include Tampa, St. Petersburg and Jacksonville.
