The City of Miami Beach unveiled new lifeguard towers Tuesday that are not only eye-catching but come equipped with important upgrades.
The four brightly-colored towers were added to the 31-piece collection between South Pointe and 87th Street. They were built locally with structurally sound components including impact windows, pressure-treated wood and aluminum hardware.
Future lifeguard towers will be based on one of the new updated towers, designed by architect William Lane.
