Fire crews in Sarasota were called to a massive, six-alarm blaze shortly before 5 a.m. Friday.
The fire engulfed a 7,000 square foot warehouse located off South Packinghouse Road just east of I-75, according to Tampa NBC affiliate WFLA-TV. It quickly spread to two additional buildings, including an apartment building.
Over 80 firefighters were called to the scene in an effort to keep it from spreading any further. Crews were able to eventually contain the fire back to the warehouse, which was completely destroyed, and save the other buildings involved.
No injuries have been reported.
Strong winds in the area are also blowing smoke east and causing low visibility for drivers on the nearby interstate.
