A Miami-Dade man and woman are facing human trafficking charges after police say they forced a 17-year-old girl and a 32-year-old woman to engage in prostitution.
Rudy Chamorro, 29, and Elena Hernandez, 31, were in bond court for the second time in less than a month after the 17-year-old came forward with new allegations.
Chamorro and Hernandez have been in jail since April 13th on similar charges involving the 32-year-old alleged victim. That woman's arrest report says she was held against her will for about a month to have sex with strangers. According to police, research of Hernandez's phone number found several backpage.com advertisements.
"Human trafficking is developing and growing as a crime problem," said Detective Romelio Angel Martinez, of the Miami-Dade Police Dept.
The new arrest report for the 17-year-old alleged victim details how he couple would rent a place for what they called "in-calls" so the teen could have sex for money. The report also states a driver would take the teen to other locations and these were referred to as "out-calls."
The 32-year-old said she was held against her will for about a month. After she was paid for having sex with various men, she was forced to transfer the money to Chamorro or Hernandez, the reports said.
When officers researched Chamorro's phone, it "revealed numerous backpage.com escort advertisements, with photographs of the victim," the report said.

Both the teenager and woman were also physically abused, the reports said.
Chamorro and Hernandez were arrested earlier this month at their home on Southwest 144th Place and 180th Terrace. Inside the home were their four children, roaches everywhere, and drug paraphernalia, according to the arrest report.
They are also charged with child neglect and marijuana possession.
"That's a whole other aspect of it, where these suspects are damaging their own kids and injuring them," Detective Martinez said.
The four children were taken into the custody of the Department of Children and Families, authorities said.
Chamorro and Hernandez were being held without bond Tuesday, jail records showed. It was unknown if they have attorneys.
