Man Shot in Attempted Robbery at Gas Station in Miami Shores

The incident occurred at the Chevron on NW 79th Street and 12th Avenue.

A man was shot after being robbed at gunpoint early Saturday morning, said Miami Police.

Raul Massipe, 21, was getting gas at the Chevron Station on NW 79th Street and 12th Avenue in Miami Shores at 5 a.m. when he said two men got into his car and told him to drive to a bank.

Alvaro Solis, a family friend whom the victim lives with, said the suspects asked Massipe for $5000. Solis said that's when Massipe was shot - once near the knee and again near the shoulder.

Customers in the area said the station was not in a safe place, especially at 5 a.m.

"All this section is really dangerous," customer Francisco Rodriguez said. "You have to be careful and you have to try to be watching what's happening down here."

It is still unclear what the motive for the shooting was, but police are on the lookout for two men seen on surveillance video from the gas station. Detectives are looking for two black males, one about 6'2" with dreadlocks wearing a black t-shirt with shite letters and white pants, another about 6' wearing a black shirt and red shorts.
