Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in Hollywood Tuesday morning.
The shooting was reported in the 2400 block of Jackson Street. Police said the man's body was found in his apartment around 2 a.m.
The man's identity and the details of the shooting were unknown.
"It was a surprise to us because this is relatively a quiet area. In this neighborhood we never have any issues," Hollywood Police spokesman Lt. Osvaldo Perez said.
Neighbors were also shocked by the shooting.
"Danger, no, not on Jackson Street, it is very peaceful here," Francis Rodriguez said. "This is scary, too close to home."
Police said they are looking for a black SUV that witnesses saw speeding away after the crime, with two to four suspects inside.
Anyone with information that could help police is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
