What to Know
- A man near Daytona Beach was hospitalized after falling from the fourth floor while jumping between balconies at his apartment.
A 69-year-old man is in serious condition after falling from a fourth floor balcony at his apartment building in central Florida.
Flagler County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Troiano says Ralph Wolff made ``a terrible decision'' when he locked himself out of his European Village apartment in Palm Coast on Tuesday. He asked his neighbors if he could jump from their balcony to his balcony to get back inside his home instead of calling management to unlock the door.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports Wolff hit a chair on the ground, which may have helped break his fall. Paramedics treated him at the scene before taking him to a hospital.
Troiano says Wolff's injuries weren't considered life-threatening.
