Police are investigating after a man was killed and a woman was critically injured in a stabbing at an apartment in Miami Wednesday.
The incident happened at 1559 North River Drive, Miami Police officials said.
Family members identified the victims as 86-year-old Rodolfo Pavon and 65-year-old Maria Rivera.
The man's son, also named Rodolfo Pavon, said his father was a loving and kind man who would never hurt a soul.
"My dad help everybody in this building, everybody knows my dad," the younger Pavon said.
Police said they have no motive in the stabbing and no one in custody, but police say they are looking for a person of interest whose relationship to the couple is unclear.
News of the crime that authorities have described as "heinous" has residents like Christian Muccio concerned.
"Maybe we need more officers because it's very dangerous for my family, my neighbors," he said.
