The Miami-Dade Police Department said it continues to monitor the situation in Paris and has advised its officers to remain on high alert.
MDPD officials said there is no information that South Florida has been threatened, but they are taking precautions.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez said additional measures are also in place at Miami International Airport and PortMiami.
"The events in Paris are heartbreaking. The thoughts and prayers of Miami-Dade County are with everyone affected by the senseless attacks in that city and throughout France," Mayor Gimenez said.
Friday's attacks in Paris left more than 120 people dead.
U.S. Homeland Security Department officials said there is no known, credible threat against the United States.
Police officials in France have said at least 35 people were killed in shootings and explosions, and some 120 are dead after hostages were taken at a music venue where a California-based rock band was set to perform Friday night.

French president Francois Hollande has declared a state of emergency, mobilized the military and announced plans to close the country's borders.
