Firefighters responded to a large fire at a Pompano Beach furniture warehouse Friday.
The fire was reported at 980 Southwest 12th Avenue. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue and Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded to the scene.
"Because the warehouse is a furniture warehouse, it gave it a lot of fuel," said Sandra King with Pompano Beach Fire Rescue.
Footage showed flames and smoke pouring out of the building.
"It's hard to describe when you look at flames. It's scary. But at least nobody was hurt," said witness Willie Sein.
Officials said there were no serious injuries, but three firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion and one person was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
"There were explosions, including a 50 gallon gas propane tank that shot out of the building across Andrews Avenue and almost struck our firefighters. They actually had to duck and take cover," King explained.
Local
Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire. They said no one was inside when it happened.
Fire Rescue said it will be at the scene until Saturday morning, monitoring any potential hot spots, and deputies will block Andrews Avenue from Southwest 9th to 12th Street until the scene is clear.
