Good Samaritans Thwart Pinecrest Bank Cash Grabber: Cops

A man who was caught on camera snatching a stack of cash from a woman inside a Pinecrest bank was quickly nabbed thanks to some Good Samaritans who pinned him down until police arrived, officials said.

The woman was depositing the $1,540 at the Wells Fargo Bank at 11765 Pinecrest Parkway just before 1:30 p.m. Monday when 40-year-old James Kleb grabbed the money, according to an arrest report.

Surveillance footage from inside the bank showed Kleb run out of the bank, but he didn't get very far. Police said he was followed by three bank employees who helped two construction workers keep him there until officers arrived.

Kleb was charged with robbery by sudden snatching and booked into jail. Attorney information wasn't available.

Police said Kleb was on probation for armed robbery and burglary to a residence at the time of his arrest. His priors date back to 1999 and include DUI, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and marijuana possession.
