A boil water advisory issued Friday after a large water main break in Hollywood caused a sinkhole has been lifted.
The City of Hollywood issued the precautionary boil water advisory for the entire city after a water main break caused a sinkhole in the area of North 19th Avenue and Johnson Street, leaving a garbage truck stuck.
Officials said all City of Hollywood water tests have come back clear and the water is now safe for normal consumption.
The city's water treatment plant experienced a significant drop in pressure after the break, officials said. They said the break was due to an older section of pipe.
The Waste Pro garbage truck was driving on North 19th Avenue when the passenger side became stuck in the sinkhole, Hollywood police officials said.
No one was injured and the truck was pulled out of the sinkhole.
The incident caused the closure of North 19th Avenue from Lincoln Street to Grant Street, and Johnson Street from Federal Highway to 20th Avenue.
Local
Johnson Street may reopen when the water main leak is stopped, officials said.
