A driver who crashed into a Miami cemetery Wednesday night is facing DUI charges, police said.
The incident happened at Woodlawn Park Cemetery at Southwest 8th Street and 32nd Avenue.
According to Miami Police spokeswoman Kenia Reyes, the driver of a black Audi crashed through the cemetery's main gate, which had been sealed, and began driving around.
The driver, identified as 49-year-old Omar Sueque, was found sleeping in the front seat of his car with the key in the ignition, according to a Miami Police report.
When officers found Sueque, his eyes were glassy and bloodshot, his balance was bad and he had an odor of alcohol, the report said. He also failed a field sobriety test, the report said.
Sueque was taken into custody and was charged with DUI and DUI with property damage. Records showed he was being held on $2,000 bond Thursday. No one was injured in the incident.
