Dolphins’ Arian Foster Announces Retirement

Miami Dolphins running back Arian Foster announced his retirement effective immediately on Monday via Uninterrupted.

In the announcement, Foster lets it be known that walking away from the game did not come easily. The RB references issues with his body and injuries simply taking their toll on him.

"There comes a time in every athlete's career when their ambition and their body are no longer on the same page," said Foster.

When the 2016 season started, Foster was Miami's primary running back. That quickly changed however due to an injury. Since then, Jay Ajayi has taken over the majority of the work and has shined. Ajayi has rushed for 200 or more yards in consecutive games, and he is only the fourth player in league history to do so.

With Ajayi's production and Foster's ailing body, it became apparent that the veteran may begin seeing less snaps. Ultimately it appears, Foster decided to walk away now rather than sit and watch from the bench.

"I want to thank the Miami Dolphins, with everything in me, for allowing me to bow out with grace and making this process as easy as possible," added Foster.

At only 30 years old, Miami and Foster both hoped he could re-capture the magic from earlier in his career. That ended up not being the case however for the four-time Pro Bowler.
