A dolphin who decided it was tired of swimming jumped onto a ship and landed on a woman on the boat's deck near Marco Island Sunday.
The 600- to 700-pound dolphin wound up on the deck of the charter boat as it traveled down the Marco River, according to naplesnews.com.
Isles of Capri Fire Lt. Keith Perry said he received a 911 call around 2:45 p.m. from the boat's captain, after the dolphin was too heavy to lift off the ship.
Florida Fish and Wildlife officials and Collier County Sheriff's deputies helped get the massive mammal off the boat.
"It seemed to know that we were trying to help," Perry said of the dolphin.
The unidentified woman suffered a sprained ankle.
