A couple was arrested after authorities said they left four kids in a car with a handgun inside while they shopped in a Florida City WalMart.
Danielle Bright, 26, and Johnathan Lee Curley, 33, were arrested Sunday on charges of child neglect and storing a firearm in an unsafe manner.
Both appeared in bond court Tuesday, where Bright was ordered held on $4,500 bond while Curley was given $2,500 bond. They were both appointed public defenders.
Bright and Curley, who are from the Gainesville area, came to Miami to get married Saturday. When they went to the store, they left their three children and a niece in the car in the parking lot while they went inside, authorities said.
An officer responded to a car alarm going off and found the kids inside the car. He disarmed the alarm and found a handgun inside a holster in the car, authorities said.
A short time later, Curley came out of the store and told the officer he had run inside for 10 minutes and left the kids with Bright, authorities said. Bright came out and said she had gone in to use the bathroom, authorities said.
But when the officer checked the surveillance video, the officer found they had gone inside together at 8:01 p.m. and exited at 8:35 p.m., authorities said.

Curley told the officer he didn't know the gun was in the car, authorities said.
The couple was staying at a local hotel along with their nine children, authorities said. The children were unharmed.
