Police said that Fidencio Ricardo Gonzalez, 69, died, and Alberto Rodriguez, 35, was injured after the Camry hit them. Jose Marrero, 45, was slightly injured.
Rodriguez was in stable condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital and Marrero was not taken to a hospital.
"The red car hit the old man and it was like sitting down. It hit him so hard, he was flying through the air. He was on the floor, like bleeding," said witness Kevin Valladares.
"This intersection does have a stop sign, so somebody is in the wrong and somebody is in the right. Somebody was not paying attention," said Det. Carl Zogby.
The driver of the red Toyota Camry was not injured, but the driver of the Kia Sorrento had minor injuries and was transported to Palmetto Hospital.
Zogby said nothing criminal is suspected.
