Police responded to the scene of a shooting and stabbing in Northwest Miami-Dade Wednesday night that left one person dead and two people fighting for their lives.
The incident happened at 99th Street and 26th Avenue just before 9:45 p.m. Police responded after a call of shots being heard from the home were reported.
When police and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue entered the home, they found one person - later identified as 44-year-old Yunia Gomez - dead at the scene of a gunshot wound.
Two others in the home, 41-year-old Jario Ramon-Mejia and Gomez's 19-year-old daughter Eryka Jimenez, were rushed to Ryder Trauma Center. Jimenez is listed in stable condition after being shot, while Mejia's condition was not released with a stab wound.
Police are investigating the incident as a domestic related murder and attempted suicide, but would not give any other information as the investigation is on-going.
