An alligator has been caught after joining beachgoers for a swim in Naples.
The Naples Daily News reports the gator went swimming between Bonita and Barefoot beaches Saturday morning.
Witnesses alerted Collier County park rangers and an alligator handler responded to the scene. The trapper was able to successfully remove the 3-foot, 8-inch gator from the beach.
The rangers believe the recent bout of heavy rain and flooding might have washed the gator into the Gulf.
