An 8-foot alligator was captured after it was spotted in a parking lot on Key Biscayne Thursday night.
A security guard at a water treatment facility called 911 after spotting the large gator in the parking lot near the Rickenbacker Causeway.
"About 8:53 p.m., I saw a big alligator just appear right there," guard Jean Rousseau said. "He might have come from the water behind the trees looking for food."
Trappers were called in and were able to get the gator, which was expected to be relocated to the Florida Everglades.
