Authorities in Hialeah are investigating a fatal crash Monday afternoon.
Hialeah Fire officials said a pickup truck and a semi collided on Le Jeune Road near East 5th Street.
Three people were inside the pickup, the male driver and two female passengers. Authorities said, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control and crossed into the path of the semi. The semi then t-boned the passenger side of the pickup and dragged it several feet.
One of the passengers was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and second passenger were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital in unknown condition.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
The deceased victim has been identified as 45-year-old Zoila Perez Machado. The other female passenger was her sister, while the driver of the pickup was her sister's partner.
