Disney World was not the happiest place on Earth for families who were duped by Nancy Alvarez, who sold fake vacation packages on Craigslist.com.
But maybe a happy ending is on the way after Alvarez pleaded guilty to 20 felonies Tuesday and agreed to pay back more than $31,000 to her victims, the Miami Herald reports.
By agreeing to pay back the cash she stole from families, 22-year-old Alvarez avoids spending serious time behind bars. She has already paid half of the money.
Alvarez was arrested twice in 2009 for selling families a fairy tale dream vacation with an equally fairy tale price.
On Craigslist, Alvarez's post was under the name "A Fairy Tale Event."
She conned $1,200 out of one family out of Texas who planned to use Disney as the fort for their 25th anniversary and never delivered on the tickets or hotel accommodations, prosecutors claimed.
There is no timetable for Alvarez to pay her victims back, which doesn't have some singing Hakuna Matata.

“I think it’s sad she’s not serving time,” Ritha Warren told the Miami Herald. She lost $2,350 to Alvarez. “She deserves to [serve time]. She’s cheated a lot of people.”
