The mother of former tennis star Anna Kournikova was arrested yesterday after she left her 5-year-old son at their Palm Beach home alone while she ran errands, and the boy jumped out a second story window.
Alla Kournikova, 46, was charged with child neglect after little Allan, half-brother of Anna, was locked inside the $2.2 million mansion with a phone and no supervision, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Allan was placed in front of a TV, but wandered up to the second floor where he jumped out a window, 15 feet above the ground. He was found wandering the home's front yard by members of the Palm Beach Fire Rescue team a short time later.
The youngster was soaking wet, and told police he had jumped into the pool because his feet hurt. Bruises were found on his feet and back, and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Alla Kournikova returned to the house about 45 minutes after Allan was found by authorities. She told police she left him behind because he didn't want to go, according to the Post.
She was arrested and later released on $3,000 bond.
Anna Kournikova, 28, retired from tennis in 2003 and currently lives in Miami.
