A 911 call released in the brutal beating of a Hollywood woman by her own son displayed just how disturbing the crime was.
Beau Henri Bruneau told police he clubbed his mom, 62-year-old Nancy Bruneau, because he was scared of the woman and that she was trying to kill him by yelling at him.
The revelation was the only motive given by the 29-year-old, who told a 911 operator Saturday morning that he had just murdered his own mother at their Hollywood home.
"I just tried to kill my mom. I hit her, then I hit her with a hammer and then with a brick," Bruneau said.
When police arrived on scene, they found Bruneau covered in blood and his mother dead in the front lawn. Bruneau also told police that he tried to cut out the woman's heart and even tried to poison her just before the brick attack.
The crime has shocked those who knew Nancy Bruneau, who worked at Hillcrest Golf & Country Club. Co-workers told the Sun-Sentinel that she had recently said she feared her son.
Beau Bruneau has been charged with first-degree murder and was ordered held without bail Monday.
