A young burglar picked a pretty bad choice of targets when he tried to burglarize a South Florida home.
Turns out the house is owned by the Fort Lauderdale police chief.
Chief Frank Adderley wasn't home during Sunday's attempted break-in, but a family member was and scared off the crook before he could get away with any merchandise, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
The burglar is described as a thin, young male, likely in his teens or early 20s. He was seen fleeing in a red car.
The Plantation home is no stranger to 911 calls.
Plantation Police had to come save Adderley after he was forced to dodge bullets from his former wife, Eleanor, in 2008 after she caught him having an affair. Eleanor was sentenced to nine months in jail and the two were divorced last year.
