Former NFL lineman and Dolphin great Bob "Kooch" Kuechenberg was arrested Saturday for DUI in Fort Lauderdale.
In addition to the DUI, Kuechenberg, 63, is charged with DUI with damage to property or person and improper passing or lane changes, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
Kuechenberg was arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol after his white, two-door Volvo was involved in a crash on I-95 near Commercial Blvd. around 9:30 p.m.
Kuechenberg allegedly swerved and hit another car, then kept driving until the driver of the other car drove after him, flashing his lights until Kuechenberg slowed down.
When officers arrived at the scene they claim Kuechenberg had "very bloodshot, watery, glassy" eyes and a "very red flush" face.
After losing his balance several times during field sobriety tests, Kuechenberg was arrested. Two different breath tests showed he had a blood alcohol level of .127 and .122, well above Florida's .08 legal limit.
He was released from jail Sunday night after posting $2,000 bail.
Kuechenberg has two previous DUI charges in South Florida dating back over 15 years, according to the Sun-Sentinel. The first, in 1993, was reduced to reckless driving. A year later he pleadedd no contest to DUI after hitting a stoplight on the Palmetto Expressway.
After joining the Dolphins in 1970, Keuchenberg spent 14 seasons with the team, helping to win two Super Bowls and play in two others.
A six-time Pro Bowl selection, Kuechenberg was a finalist for the NFL Hall of Fame and is on the Dolphin's Honor Roll.
