A group of 11 Cubans came ashore in Hollywood Beach, authorities said.
They had used a small, blue fishing boat, which remained abandoned at the shore's edge.
Authorities responded to the area of Charleston Street and North Ocean Drive around 3:45 p.m.
Witnesses said the group stayed together while getting out of the boat, and then they were taken to the U.S. Border Patrol Office in Dania Beach where they will be processed.
"I just laid my head down and it was like a football team behind, and they were cheering and hugging and crying," said Pamela Smilack, who was sunbathing on Hollywood Beach.
"They're actually in very good condition considering they were at sea for three days," said Pable Finegas of the Hollywood Police.
No other information was immediately available.
