Hardened criminals need not fear the indignity of being apprehended by Miami Beach PD's new pepto-pink police car.
"No one's gonna be pulled over by it," laughed Detective Jenny Velazquez.
Rather, MBPD's latest patrol vehicle paint job is all about the ladies, a decidedly pastel tribute now parked outside headquarters in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Painted in script on over the left rear wheel: "Hope Always."
"We're keeping it," Velazquez said, "and every October we'll showcase it by driving it to different events."
The idea for the pink car was borne after Detective Vivian Hernandez's mother succumbed to the disease earlier this year.
"We decided to do a team for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and it snowballed from there," Velazquez said.

The fully-functional pink patrol car will spend much of October parked in front of the police station, and will be featured in many breast cancer awareness events throughout the month -- including, naturally, the Race for the Cure on October 15.
