A Metrorail employee died after he was struck by a train near the Earlington Heights station Monday morning, officials said.
The worker, identified as 47-year-old George Andrews, was struck while working on the platform at the station, which is located at the intersection of Northwest 21st Avenue and the Airport Expressway.

"We got the call at approximately 9:10. It is a MiamI-Dade transit employee that was working and struck by a train," said Aida Fina-Milian, a spokeswoman for Miami-Dade Police.
Miami-Dade Police said they were responding to a death investigation in the area but no other details were given.
Service was restored about five hours after the incident. Bus shuttles had been running from the Brownsville station to the Civic Center while the incident was investigated.
"That's what is so sad. That's why have to be every day thankful for what we have," said Metrorail passenger Maria Velasquez.
