A funeral Mass for University of Florida student Christian Aguilar was held Tuesday in Miami.
Guided by police, the funeral procession made its way down NE 7th Street to Saint Dominic's Catholic Church. A crowd of mourners waited outside.
Mourner Isabel Martinez said it was heartbreaking when parents have to bury their children.
"Everyday we pray for them. Everyday," she said.
Some people knew the Aguilar family, greeting them with hugs. While, others, like Dennis and Daniel Rodriguez, were aquaintances but they came to show support.
"I was very shocked. It became a 3-D oment of how quick life is, just a mist. It comes and it goes," Daniel Rodriguez said.
The funeral was held at 1 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. burial at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery.
The remains of Aguilar were found about 60 miles from Gainesville in Levy County on Oct. 12 after nearly three weeks of searching.

Authorities say the 18-year-old had been last seen with Pedro Bravo, his friend and former classmate at Doral Preparatory High School, on Sept. 20 at a Gainesville Best Buy.
Police arrested and initially charged Bravo, also 18, with depriving a crime victim of medical care, but he was later charged with murder after police say they found blood in Bravo's SUV and found Aguilar's backpack hidden inside a suitcase in Bravo's closet.
Authorities also said Bravo bought a shovel and roll of duct tape days before the student vanished. Bravo will file a not-guilty plea, his attorney said last week.
