What was supposed to be a cheerful surprise didn’t turn out that way.
A group of siblings were recorded as parents Jason and Tiffany Mertlich revealed the gender of the newest member of the family, according to KTAR.com.
Their son, 6-year-old Gunner Mertlich, starts off really excited as he smiles and tells the camera he thinks it’s going to be a boy while surrounded by his two younger sisters.
But then he cuts the cake to reveal a pink filling and he loses it.
“Nooooo, it’s a girl?” he says repeatedly while tearing up. “I didn’t want another girl. Too much girls!”
His sisters just stare at him in shock.
The father tries to comfort him and says, “You had the same reaction I did, bud.”
Still very upset, he refuses to eat the cake and pushes it away.
The family said they were surprised to see that the video, which has been viewed over 800,000 times on YouTube, received so much attention.
"We didn't expect it to take off like it has," Tiffany Mertlich told KTAR. "We just thought our friends and family would enjoy it and have a good laugh."
